Founded in 1956, the Shasta Gem and Mineral Society unites enthusiasts who share a passion for gems, minerals, and the beauty of our natural world. Our community is dedicated to learning, discovery, and the preservation of our geological heritage.

The Workshop

Our workshop offers equipment for cutting, polishing, and cabbing gemstones. It’s a creative space where both beginners and seasoned lapidary artists can craft their masterpieces in a supportive, hands-on environment.

We always welcome new members! Membership entitles you to full access to our lapidary workshop, and enables participation in a host of other classes, field trips, and other events and activities.

Our club is fostered on volunteerism to keep our workshop running well and our activities and events successful. Members are encouraged to spend some time toward the betterment of the club.
